Consultant Psychiatrist for General Psychiatry Department 20
Psychiatry South Stockholm strives to become a leading example in Swedish psychiatry. We do this by working person-centered, offering the right competence for the patient's needs, emphasizing the application of evidence-based guidelines and care programs. We continue to invest in development work within the areas of patient safety, care processes, and our most important resource, our employees. We are over 1000 dedicated employees who provide patients with good, safe, and equitable care.
Now we are entering a new era! In the autumn of 2025, Stockholm County's healthcare area (SLSO) will launch Stockholm Psychosocial Care – a newly formed organization that gathers all psychosocial outpatient and inpatient care units within SLSO into a common operation.
Our Vision:
Our department offers qualified psychiatric inpatient care for patients with complex and acute mental conditions. We work based on a person-centered and interdisciplinary approach where the patient's needs, participation, and recovery are in focus. The care is characterized by respect, safety, and an evidence-based approach. We collaborate closely with relatives, outpatient care, and other actors to create a safe and cohesive care chain for the patient.
We care for each other, help each other, have fun at work, and strive to do excellent work together. We offer a student-friendly environment where we welcome future colleagues and provide supervision for their development.
Your Role as a Specialist Doctor/Consultant Psychiatrist
As a specialist doctor/consultant psychiatrist with us, you will be offered a varied and stimulating job. You will make assessments and investigations and be responsible for care and treatment. You will collaborate with colleagues, care neighbors, and other actors and work based on the individual patient's needs. You will actively contribute to the department's development. Documentation is done in the Take Care journal system.
Our Expectations of You
You have excellent collaboration skills and enjoy sharing your knowledge. You have an interest in development issues and in actively contributing to the development of the operation. You are flexible in your working method and can meet varying needs. You contribute to a positive work environment, have an easy time collaborating and communicating. You have your own drive to work independently. The tasks require flexibility and a structured approach.
Furthermore, you are a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. You have an interest in patients with various diagnoses who require inpatient care. We work according to diagnosis-specific care process maps and have implemented Safewards, which is an evidence-based approach to prevent threats, violence, and coercive measures. This approach, together with the Bergen model and person-centered care, is a foundation on which the department rests. Good Swedish in speech and writing as well as good computer skills are required. Personal suitability is highly valued.
What Can We Offer You?
The position is a permanent full-time employment, 40 hours/week. Start date by agreement. We offer the opportunity to work in a workplace that allows for personal and professional development at both the individual and group levels. We provide a work environment where we together ensure that patients receive the best possible care. As an employer, we care about our employees' health and well-being and offer, among other things, flexible working hours, wellness hours, and an annual wellness allowance of 5000 SEK.
